Last night Mazzetti hosted a group focused on new technology in the construction industry. Participants included VDC (virtual design construction) professionals from general contractors, founders of startups focused on building apps and tools for our industry, venture capital investors, a few architects, and a few Mazzetti folks.
Pictured here is our very own Jon Inman using the Oculus Rift headset to explore a Revit model converted into virtual reality (VR) by WRNS Studio architect Jason Halaby (right of Jon). VR presents an opportunity for experiencing and interacting with a design in a really unique way. Picture owners, engineers, architects, contractors inspecting a complete virtual mock up of an operating room and discussing the details of the design while “in” the space.
