One of our Board Members, Donna Deckard, volunteers with an organization called the Rosie the Riveter Trust. This organization supports the Rosie the Riveter National Park and Visitor Center in Richmond, CA; and ultimately, it advocates for supporting women and gender equality.
This organization is trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most dressed people in “Rosie the Riverter” attire, in one place. Purpose: To generate awareness and interest in this important place, celebrating this milestone in the history of gender equality in this country and in the world.
I would like to encourage as many people as possible to attend, dress as a “Rosie” (bandana, collared shirt, coveralls, red socks, closed toed black or brown shoes) to support Donna and Rosie and gender equality.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend in person. The same day, several Mazzetti staff will be volunteering with GRID Alternatives in the San Francisco area, installing solar panels on the roof of a low-income family.
There’s a lot of opportunity to make the world a better place. And that’s ok; there are a lot of us. Let’s do what we can.
