Energy efficiency is what attracted me to the building industry. After my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering, I began working as an energy analyst with a Seattle firm specializing in building energy conservation. Three years later, I joined a well-established Pacific Northwest MEP firm so I could broaden my knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering design. I ended up owning the firm’s Portland Office for ten years (talk about a learning and rewarding experience!) until it merged into a larger Portland firm. I have continued a long career of 29 years in MEP consulting engineering that eventually led me to Mazzetti.
I consider myself a good problem solver who likes a real challenge. I have worked on 700+ projects across the Western States including healthcare, higher-education, commercial and research facilities.
I thrive leading a group of professionals to deliver innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions for high performance buildings, and I strive to make my work impactful in contributing to sustainable growth and climate change solutions.
To me, physical and mental health is the most important asset, so I exercise regularly, eat right and keep up with reading.
One quote I appreciate is: “Treat your family like friends and your friends like family.” I enjoy spending time with them, and my appreciation only grows.
