I’ve always wanted to have a career that helps others. I’ve designed HVAC systems for multi-family apartments, restaurants, medical office buildings, and hospitals. I enjoy evaluating existing systems to identify potential problems and developing creative ways to solve them. I have a very detail-oriented mindset which is valuable when it comes understanding the codes and standards that may apply to the project, coordinating with other trades to verify systems can be installed, and developing drawings that clearly capture the intent of the project.
The most interesting project I’ve worked on was a complicated chilled piping project for a data center. The facility consisted of five separate chilled water loops that were connected at a single point on both the main supply and return. The main distribution piping didn’t have any isolation valves so if there was a piping failure the entire building would lose the cooling. We assessed the existing piping to illustrate the drastic differences between the latest record drawings and actual conditions. We developed drawings that included an intricate phasing plan that allowed the client to keep portions of the system online and be able to install isolation valves throughout the facility.
In my role at Mazzetti, I look forward to the opportunity to design HVAC systems in healthcare buildings that help people feel comfortable in life’s most stressful situations.
I love training for marathons so when I’m not in the office I’m putting in lots of road miles. Next up Chevron Houston Marathon 2023!
I also enjoy rock climbing, hiking, camping, cooking with my fiancé (soon to be wife), and trout fishing.
