Growing up working for my family HVAC business, my transition to becoming a mechanical engineer was fairly organic. I earned my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and I am a licensed Professional Engineer and HVAC Contractor in Georgia. I am dedicated to energy-efficient and environmental-responsible HVAC design and have performed field investigation, load analysis, and equipment selection for a variety of projects.
Some of the smartest and most caring people I have ever met work within the healthcare design industry, and I don’t believe it to be a coincidence. Designing environments for people who are often in their most vulnerable state, gives me great appreciation (and satisfaction) for this line of work. It is so much more than a job. With every healthcare project, I assume that someone I care about will use it–in reality, many have. I have experienced the discomfort and frustration caused by poor design decisions and actively think of how spaces will be used to help mitigate those instances.
I appreciate helping move the industry forward through my participation in the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), Georgia Society for Healthcare Engineers (GASHE) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
I am lucky to live in the first “Bee City” in Georgia where I keep honeybees as a hobby. These pollinators are essential not only to local ecosystems but also paramount to all of mankind.
Additionally, I enjoy gardening in an urban setting. I will typically have a dozen containers growing tomatoes, peppers, okra, and vegetables using drip irrigation to limit the amount of water used.
