Mazzetti is delighted to announce that Jon Utech has joined our team as Senior Director of Sustainability Strategy & Finance.  HOW DID YOU GET INTO YOUR SPECIFIC LINE OF WORK? WHAT ABOUT THIS ROLE EXCITES YOU? I work in sustainability because it aligns my skills and experience with an area that is important to the world.  Moving the needle in sustainability in healthcare means integrating environmental health into how we run our systems which will positively impact human health and that's about as cool a thing as you can do in my mind!

Mazzetti is delighted to announce that Charles Wales has joined our team as a Senior Commissioning Authority. Charles brings over three decades of invaluable experience in commercial and healthcare facilities. Charles has developed extensive expertise in controls, HVAC, and central plants. His diverse background includes roles as a contractor, operator, project manager, and commissioning agent, which have equipped him with a unique understanding of building systems and efficient solutions.

We are pleased to announce that Michael Gilmore, LEED AP, Assoc. DBIA, HFDP, has joined our team as a Principal. With a career spanning four decades, Mike brings a wealth of experience and specialized expertise in the healthcare sector.  Michael's professional journey includes significant roles within major construction groups and pre-construction groups, specifically excelling in Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Design/Build, Progressive Design Build, Design Assist, and CMAR delivery methods. During his tenure at Control Air Ent., LLC, he led the MEP scope on projects. Michael is a member of ASHE, CSHE, ASHRAE, and DBIA. 

As a member of the IFHE, Mazzetti took the lead in coordinating teams of volunteers to respond swiftly to WHO's calls for assistance. This collaborative endeavor encompassed more than just teams; it represented a coming together of minds from various disciplines and geographies. The efforts of these volunteers went beyond 24 teams, spanning over 25 countries. This statistic underscores the global scale and influence of such collaborative initiatives. 

We are thrilled to announce that Jenna McClure, PE, has joined Mazzetti as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Jenna launched her technical career in 2004 and has amassed a wealth of experience in various market sectors. She has significant expertise in multiple project delivery methods such as Bid/Spec, Progressive Design Build, Design Assist, and Design Collaboration.

University of California San Francisco (UCSF) has begun construction on the UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital at Parnassus Heights. As part of the design team, Mazzetti is providing a suite of services including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, energy modeling, lighting design, and sustainability consulting.

Mazzetti’s Earth Day Bending the Climate Curve™ lecture series focused on Renewable Development in Healthcare. The lecture addressed questions such as: How might renewable energy development be part of the solution? How do you consider and assess your overall energy strategy? What’s the general process and SMEs needed to execute this strategy? How the heck do you pay for it?!

In the world of Smart Buildings and IOT (Internet of Things), the Building Automation System (BAS) has a critical role. The BAS can be much more than an enhanced time clock and/or setpoint optimizer. It can (and arguably should) play a critical role in an energy efficient strategy, empowering operators with real-time performance data, while maintaining safe and comfortable conditions for occupants.
